1407 easy chair by Wim Rietveld for Gispen – Netherlands 1950s

Minimalist design armchair, model 1407, designed by Wim Rietveld for Gispen in 1954.

The chair is new upholstered with woolen fabric from De Ploeg (Panama 40) with new foam padding. The steel frame is graphite black lacquered with original Bakelite armrests.

This is an old copy, not a re-issue and completely original.

Overall, in excellent condition!

This armchair belonged to a series of ‘furniture for the simple interior’, which was awarded a gold medal at the 10th Triennial of Milan (1954). Because of the minimalist character you can place the chair everywhere in your interior.
